Moto DROID X2 Gingerbread Update Verizon

Motorola DROID X2 is getting official Gingerbread (Android 2.3) update today from Verizon, they offered firmware update “1.3.232.MB870.Verizon.en.US” via OTA (Over The Air) upgrades. You will receive a update notification on your smartphones once software is available in your area, in case you can’t find notification you can do it manually by go to Setting > About Phone > System Update, if update available you should choose “Download” button. The size of update file is around 101 MB it will take roughly 15 – 40 minutes to download the update, after all file has completely downloaded you will get notification to install it, just tap “Install Now” button to begin update process, installation process will take approximately 5-10 minutes.

Verizon DROID X2 Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update Enhancements and Improvements

This update will bring your smartphone new features and improvements or maybe bug fixes besides gingerbread update, here’s some major new features :

  • Multi Touch Key-Chording
  • New UI and Color Scheme
  • Device and SDcard encryption
  • Google Books
  • Geo-tagging for stock camera apps

  • Fixed – trouble when unlocking device
  • Fixed – more stable systems to reduce device resets
  • Fixed – battery percentage displayed incorrectly

  • Now capable to receive MMS sound notification while using phone to calling
