Retail Store Manual Update myTouch 4G Gingerbread

T-Mobile myTouch 4G is officially announce Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) update to their costumers, looks like T-mobile fulfill their promise to release gingerbread after in 20th July they held a test pilot program for software upgrade. They announce a broader rollout will coming weeks after a pilot test program, and August 5th is the exact date when they will release this. This gingerbread for myTouch 4G will be offered via Over The Air (OTA), but when you failed or have not gotten the OTA you can do it manually by visiting T-mobile retail store near you location across the country.

How To Update myTouch 4G to Gingerbread in retail store

Starting August 5, the most recent software version for your smartphone (Android 2.3.3) will be rollout at T-Mobile retail store. When you coming there the rep at the store will do it for you, they will remove your own SD card and then change it with their SD card (with gingerbread software inside) to perform software upgrades, this can take approximately 30 minutes or less to complete.

Before planning to upgrade your smartphone you need to know that this process can erase all your data such as all apps, contacts, note etc. (except for data stored in SD card), so you have to back up and sync your contacts. And make sure you charge your phone first before go to retail store as this gingerbread OS update requires your myTouch 4G has over 50% battery life. Happy updating mates.
