So, there’s a chance for Samsung Captivate to get official Android Ice Cream Sandwich update ? I think small chance of these Galaxy S variant to get ICS upgrade since AT&T not giving it a gingerbread update. But I believe someone will be ported ICS 4.0 to our great Captivate, you need to be patient because Google has not release ICS source code, it will be released only after first ICS smartphone – Galaxy Nexus ready into market.

Android 4.0 Captivate

Are you wondering whether these android smartphone are compatible with ICS OS, but I think it will compatible since these phone has great hardware, such as 1 GHz Processor, 512MB of RAM, and PowerVR SGX540 GPU will be meet ICS minimum hardware requirements. Although there’s no hope to get official but you still has chance to update it with Custom ROM such as CM9 build by CyanogenMod or if you have more money you can upgrade your AT&T plan by ordering Galaxy S II for only $129,99. We will let you know when the Custom ICS is ready for our Captivate.

Update : New ICS Custom ROM by TeamHackSung is ready for Public Testing.
