Cyanogenmod CM9 Ice Cream Sandwich

CyanogenMod Team said that they will be release CM9 which based on Android Ice Cream Sandwich just two weeks after Google officially release ICS source code. CyanogenMod Team also announced that there will be no SDK port of Ice Cream Sandwich to any android phone by the Cyanogenmod team directly since porting from source code is easier rather than porting to SDK.

After two weeks CM9 will be released only with base functionality, it takes up to 3 – 4 months to make it stable and has full features. When you asking why there’s no CM8, it’s because no CM build for Honeycomb update. As we already know Android 4.0 ICS released today by Google together with their latest android smartphone Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Still no word when Google will be released Ice Cream Sandwich source code, you can expect to get it after Samsung Galaxy Nexus is available next month.
