As we know HTC has been announced a list of android phone that will get ICS update and our Desire S isn’t listed. But thanks to a developers with username superkid from xda-developers forum who successfully port Ice Cream Sandwich. The ROM is build from Galaxy Nexus dump and still on alpha stage, so it’s not recommended for daily usage and novice users. Although it still alpha version but some features are working such as touchscreen, 2G calling, keys, SD card, WiFi, sensors and much more. And the not working features are camera, Bluetooth, headphones, mobile data, etc.

Desire S Ice Cream

Are you interest to try this ROM ? The first requirements is root access, S-OFF status on your HTC Desire S and it quite complicated for novice users. For those who want to try more stable ROM you can wait for CM9 from CyanogenMod Team, they already work to build it but they need 2 months or even more from the release of Android 4.0.1 source code. If you want to try this Alpha release just go to dev thread, and don’t forget to backup your device first.
