ICS have been officially announced by Google last month and what about Motorola Droid 2 or Droid 2 Global, any chance to get it ? I think you will not get official Ice Cream Sandwich for your Droid 2, and maybe the Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) OTA update which released few months ago was the last official update from Verizon. Motorola on their official twitter account clarify that only Droid Razr, Droid Bionic and the Xoom Slate will positively get ICS update in early 2012.
But don’t worry if Verizon fail to deliver official update, you will get custom ROM from android developers out there. If you can’t find any developers working on SDK port maybe they waiting for ICS source code releases in mid-December by Google right after Galaxy Nexus available in the market since SDK port need unlocked bootloader. Personally, I will wait for CyanogenMod Team to release their CM9 build, as they build more stable ROM. We will tell you if we find stable ROM for Droid 2 or 2 Global.
Update : First ICS ROM (CM9) now available for Motorola Droid 2 Global, go to this post.
