LG Officially Announces Schedule for Ice Cream Sandwich Update

Finally a really good news will be coming to users which has LG android smartphone. After Christmas they officially announced the list of phone will be get Android 4.0 OS (Ice Cream Sandwich) upgrade but they will only give official ICS update for phone that was released in 2011. LG will divide schedule update into two periods, the first is scheduled for release in second quarters and third quarters of 2012.

For those who has Prada phone by LG 3.0, LG Optimus 2X, LG Optimus LTE, LG Optimus Sol, LG Eclipse and the LG my Touch Q you can expect to receive official ICS upgrade in second quarters of 2012. And if you have one of the following android phones, LG Optimus Black, LG Optimus EX, LG Optimus Q2, LG Optimus Big, and LG Optimus 3D you can anticipate to receive Ice Cream Sandwich in third quarters of 2012.

To this day LG does not have exact date when they will release the update, and the release date may be vary depends upon market. And for LG users who can’t wait until Q2 or Q3 to experience Android 4.0 on their phone, you can try to installing it with CyanogenMod 9 or other AOSP ROMs, for Optimus 2x or T-Mobile G2x users you can read a guide to update with unofficial ROMs. But it recommended for advanced users only.
