Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 / 5.0 is a multimedia player that comes with the Android OS, it can take pictures, record videos and play it, these android multimedia player devices can also download an application available on the Android Market. However, some vendors such as Gameloft who develop popular games such as the NFL Pro 2012, Asphalt 6, GT Racing, Modern Combat and many others don’t allow the Galaxy Player to download the game in the market, so that you won’t see the game on the market.

Download incompatible apps

The good news is there is a method to restore some of the apps that were previously incompatible with the Galaxy Player 4.0 / 5.0 by editing build.prop file systems located in android file system. But you have to get root access to edit build.prop, the process of obtaining root access is quite complicated for novice users, you can read the guide in this thread.

After getting root access now you need to change a file in /system/buid.prop, you may use root file manager or build.prop editor apps, find and replace the two line as below and save :

ro.product.manufacturer=Samsung
ro.product.model=GT-i9000

After reboots now your phone will be recognized as the Galaxy S in the Android Market. That’s it.
