Atrix 4G CM9 ROM

To this day there’s no word when original Atrix can get official upgrade to ICS, if there’s an updates available, Motorola might prefer to give it to Atrix 2 which is the successor of this android phone But there is little hope for Atrix user after some of devs from xda are working together to build CyanogenMod 9 (CM9) which based on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The devs said that these CM9 build is still in alpha stage, so it is not suitable for day-to-day usage, but the devs promised to give many significant improvements to the CM9 till goes into a stable stage and ready for end users. Although still in alpha stage but the devs have was able to make some CM9 features to work with Atrix 4G, such as :

  • phone calling
  • data connection
  • SMS and MMS
  • accelerometer sensor
  • gyroscope
  • compass
  • Wi-Fi connection
  • Bluetooth file sharing
  • GPS
  • maps
  • backlights
  • auto brightness
  • and many more…

But if you force it to install it you may interfere with some features that still have some bugs such as cameras, flash browser issues, HDMI landscape, and some others. We will let you know if the stable version has been available, for further update and download head over to this thread.
